Carol received her B.S. in Education from Concordia, Nebraska,
her M.M. in Organ performance from the University of Nebraska--Lincoln,
and her Doctorate of Worship Studies from the
Robert E. Weber Institute of Worship Studies in Florida.
She is a commissioned/rostered minister for the LCMS,
an active substitute organist, a writer, retreat leader,
and was elected in 2022 (and reelected in 2026) to the
Board of Directors for the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.
She has been a leader in ministry for over 40 years,
and a Retreat Leader for over 20 years.
She is passionate about spiritual formation,
and has produced several Bible Study retreats using
a reimagined form of Lectio Divina
which she developed during her doctoral studies.
Before her recent move to Nevada, she served from 2020-2025 as an adjunct instructor in organ and church music at her alma mater, Concordia University, Nebraska. Prior to that time of service, she served for 30 years as the Minister of Music/Organist at Bethany Lutheran Church in Long Beach, California and
Professor of Church Music at Concordia University, Irvine, CA, from 1996-2020.
She is wife to Gary; Mom to Jon (Elizabeth) Jen (Derek),
Anna (James), and Amy (Travis);
And the very proud Nana of 4 precious boys: L & L, M & E,
1 precious 8 month little girl (B) and another little girl (Z) to arrive this summer.
